Bentgrass

A-4 Bentgrass

Penn A-4 Creeping Bentgrass is dark green with fine leaf texture, exceptional heat and cold tolerance, high density, disease resistance and aggressive growth habit. It provides a smooth grainless putting surface. Penn A-4 bent grass variety will also provide a good playing surface for tees and fairways. It is proven to be adaptable to various conditions.

Penncross Bentgrass

After 52 years, Penncross creeping bentgrass is still the most specified and most widely used and trusted bentgrass in the world. Along with providing a smooth surface for putting greens, its aggressive lateral growth and ability to recover quickly makes Penncross bent grass variety a great choice for use on tees and landing areas. Penncross is exclusively a first-generation cross of three vegetative clones, which are planted by hand in Oregon. The parent material, developed by Dr. Musser, is still maintained at Penn State University.

Pennlinks II Bentgrass

After 18 years of research and testing, Penneagle was the first bentgrass variety developed specifically for fairways. Compared to Penncross, it provides a wider range of adaptability, along with a tighter upright growth habit. Incredibly popular thanks to its finer leaf but dense canopy, its ability to tolerate saline and effluent water, and its ability to crowd out Poa annua, the next generation, Penneagle II bent grass is now available with the same strong characteristics as Penneagle plus much greater resistance to brown patch.

Nightlife Bentgrass

Nightlife creeping bentgrass has finely textured blades and excellent turf quality. Its dramatic dark green color makes it an excellent choice to provide contrast on tees, greens, or fairways. Nightlife was developed from selections of T-1 creeping bentgrass which were crossed with germplasm collected over many years from golf course greens throughout the United States. The result is extremely playable bentgrass with deep blue-green color reminiscent of T-1, a slightly finer texture, and excellent aggressiveness against Poa annua.

Features

  • Dark green genetic color

  • Fine leaf texture and great turf quality

  • Aggressive against Poa annua
